PETROPERU carried out poultry health campaign in Morona communities

PETROPERU developed a poultry health campaign in the native communities of the Morona district, Dátem del Marañón province, where it implemented the Poultry Productive Project, whose objective is to favor the feeding of the inhabitants for the benefit of 800 families in the area.

The health campaign is part of the activities following the implementation of the project, in order to ensure its sustainability, keeping the state of the birds delivered to each family in optimal conditions.

Also, in coordination with the communal authorities, the start of production of laying hens was verified, as well as the first generations of improved Creole birds. Veterinary products were also delivered to the poultry health promoters of the beneficiary communities, in order to prevent respiratory diseases of the birds; those presented at this time of year.

The beneficiary communities are San Francisco, Santa Rosa del Marañón, Antena 4, Copacabana, Puerto America, Puerto Libre, Luz del Oriente, Dos Hermanos, Paragua Nuevo, Paña Poza, Copales Unidos, Nueva Unión, Santa Rosa de Morona, Puerto Alegría, Tierra Blanca and San Martín.

It should be noted that in the community of Luz del Oriente, all families have started the production of eggs for consumption. The Lieutenant Governor, Manuel Díaz Capuena, reported that they are producing 50 to 70 eggs per week.

The productive project seeks to improve the food of the inhabitants by delivering birds for human consumption in the area and training for their breeding. After the delivery of the birds, poultry equipment and materials for the construction of sheds, training was carried out in the care of race species and the accompaniment of SENASA for the training and training of promoters in disease control and vaccination of birds.

In the next stage, the participation of the Ministry of Health will be managed to guide families in how to improve their eating habits and take advantage of poultry production, especially egg nutrients. This project is part of the PETROPERU Social Management Plan.
