PETROPERÚ carried out christmas campaign for more than 5,000 children of Iquitos
Sharing the spirit of Christmas, PETROPERU entertained 5,000 children from neighboring communities to the Iquitos Refinery, the Polyduct and 16 human settlements near the Iquitos Sales Plant and airport in San Juan.
The Selva Refining Manager, Martin Chancafe, greeted the attendees of the beneficiary populations, stating that “for PETROPERU it is a matter of great happiness to carry out this Christmas activity aimed at the little ones every year, in this way we reaffirm our commitment to contribute with the well-being of the neighboring communities to our operations”.
The festival was held from December 9 to 16 in the Santa Clara communities, Centro Poblado Barrio Florido, Comunidad de Santo Tomas, IE Nueva Punchana in Masusa, IE Belaunde Terry in San Juan and finally at the Juan Pinasco Alvarado Closed Coliseum, where attendees enjoyed a children's show, chocolate, pantheon and a gift from the Company.
The celebration took place as part of the “Awakening Smiles” program, benefiting children from 13 communities located on the banks of the Amazon River and Nanay, who showed their appreciation for the present and shared moments.
The activities are part of the Social Management Plan of the Company, which seeks to improve the quality of life of the communities and populations close to its operations.
