Petroperú Board of Directors approves new strategy and sustainability plan

Petroperú has approved the new sustainability strategy that will guide the company's actions in this area, focused on five fundamental pillars that will strengthen its role as a strategic company to ensure the continuity of operations and position itself as an actor committed to sustainable development and the energy transition.

In this regard, the board of directors approved, on December 3, the sustainability strategy that is based on five pillars with 60 prioritized actions: 1) strategy and leadership, in order to strengthen sustainability management and preparation for an efficient energy transition; 2) climate action, whose objective is to achieve the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and the incursion into alternative energies; 3) environmental management, which is focused on mitigating environmental impacts with an emphasis on the protection of biodiversity and the responsible use of water; 4) relationships, with the purpose of establishing relationships of trust and effective communication with the company's stakeholders; and 5) corporate governance, which seeks to ensure a good structure in decision-making and reinforce trust with interested parties.

The implementation of this plan covers the period 2024-2030, which will allow Petroperú's management to be aligned with international practices in this area.

The approval of this new corporate guideline is an example of the company's growing interest in improving its performance in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters, and thus reaffirming its commitment to responsible management to successfully face and overcome growing challenges.
