PETROPERÚ benefits families in our Amazon with health advice
PETROPERU, reinforcing its commitment to the communities of our Amazon, continues to provide guidance and advice in nutrition, nursing and psychology, as well as in the prevention of Covid-19, through the program “Pata Dakú” (Happy Family), three months after starting this ambitious project.
A total of 41 Amazonian communities and 216 families benefit from this program that is developed in conjunction with the Ministry of Health, through the Loreto Regional Health Directorate (DIRESA).
Among the benefited communities are Nuevo Jerusalem, Félix Flores, Saramiriza, Sinchi Roca, Santa Rosa and Chapis, where training is provided on nutrition, nursing, psychology, hemoglobin screening for children under one year of age and outpatient care.
For the effective development of the program, the health personnel train the families and authorities of the selected localities, who are already putting into practice the acquired knowledge and recognize the importance of this program that not only trains them in the prevention of diseases, but they also learn about healthy eating and emotional health.
This program is promoted with the Directorate of Indigenous or Native Peoples of MINSA and DIRESA Loreto, and is carried out permanently in six communities and on an itinerant basis in another 41 communities, located in the area of influence of the North Peruvian Pipeline.
For this, "Pata Dakú" deploys 33 Health Agents (nursing, human nutrition and psychology) in the field and aims to promote appropriate healthy practices in authorities and families in the Dátem del Marañón, Loreto and Alto Amazonas provinces of the Loreto region.
