PETROPERU begins scheduled maintenance work in the Talara Refinery

PETROPERU started the XIII General Inspection of the Catalytic Cracking Complex (CCC) of Talara Refinery, which will be carried out for a period of 37 days in order to maintain the mechanical integrity and reliability of the process units.

This scheduled maintenance is carried out with a frequency of four years and more than one thousand workers participate, including PETROPERU personnel and contracted personnel, most of whom (90%) are from the province of Talara.

During this activity, major maintenance work will be carried out on the main equipment and replacement of minor equipment.

Among the main actions to be carried out has been the maintenance of the refractory coating of the reaction train, the fractionator and the inspection of various rotating and static equipment, as well as the cleaning of towers, drains and containers. The maintenance of the process lines, manual valves, control valves, electric power transmission systems and general instrumentation will also be carried out. In the Industrial Services area, the replacement of some smaller containers and the maintenance of the air, water and steam systems will be carried out.

The tasks of the general inspection will be carried out simultaneously and without interfering with the construction works of the new Talara Refinery, under a strict industrial safety plan.

Likewise, it is necessary to indicate that this scheduled maintenance activity will not affect the supply of fuels in the country, since the production and storage of fuels to be commercialized during the period of these works was scheduled with due anticipation.
