PETROPERU awarded the winners of the literary competition about the New Talara Refinery
In a ceremony held in the facilities of the Administrative Building of the Talara Refinery of PETROPERU, the outstanding participation of high-school students who occupied the first five places of the First Literary Essay Contest was acknowledged: "Importance and contribution of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT) in the economic and socio-environmental development of Talara ".
The contest, which had the participation of 30 students from different educational institutions of the oil province, aimed to motivate among students the research on the benefits of the new Talara Refinery, the most important mega-energy project in the country that records an advance greater than 65%.
The student of the fifth year of high school of the Parochial Educational Institution Santa Rosa de Lima, Jose Adriel Chinchay Franco, occupied the first place with the literary essay entitled "PMRT: A project of great importance and its impact in the country", in which he analyzes the impact on society of this megaproject, that will allow for cleaner fuels that contribute to preserving air quality in the country.
The student received a diploma and medal from the first place, as well as a laptop and printer. His advising teacher Gustavo Correa Mija received a TV set and a bluray player as prize and the school was given a laptop and a multimedia projector.
The second place was occupied by the student Abigail Eunice Vílchez Cancino of the fifth grade of secondary school of the Domingo Savio Educational Institution, with the literary essay "Modernization of the Talara Refinery: Safe profitability, energy and health for Peruvians". Vílchez Cancino received a diploma and a medal, as well as a tablet.
The third place was obtained by Marcelo Gabriel Farías Guerrero, student of the third year of high school of the Punta Arenas Educational Institution with the essay "Refining a future for Peru". In the fourth place was the student Edson Eduardo Mogollón Vences de la I.E.P. Punta Arenas and the fifth place, the student Nayely Nicoll Arca Cavero of the I.E. Immaculada.
The engineer Luis Torres Muro, Sub Manager of Operations in Talara, congratulated the participating students for their excellent work that has allowed them to analyze and learn important details of this megaproject carried out by PETROPERÚ in the oil city, as well as to deepen their knowledge about research and literary writing, on a current national issue.
