PETROPERÚ at the forefront in protecting its workers and contractors
Under the premise that the responsibility of health, safety and the environment involves everyone, PETROPERÚ held -online- its First QHSSE Committee of Major Contractors, aimed at promoting and strengthening the culture of safety, health and environment among the employees and strategic collaborators.
It is worth mentioning that the QHSSE Corporate Management Model is the tool that allows corporate management of the protection of the environment, the prevention of accidents and the deterioration of health at work and the satisfaction of the needs of the clients of the state-owned company.
The day was started by the General Manager of PETROPERÚ, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales, who said he was convinced that following the safety guidelines and protocols will be the only way to achieve operational excellence in all areas, seeking the integrity of its workers. He added that the state company has been establishing a preventive culture at all levels of the organization, as well as the implementation of COVID-19 controls.
In turn, Carlos Centurión Robles, QHSSE Manager, said that this is the first meeting at the corporate level to be held, in conjunction with the Company's workers and contractors, with whom - he said - feedback is sought to make more efficient the job.
In this sense, and through the use of the QHSSE Management indicators, the company launched the National Award for Excellence in QHSSE, through which it seeks to recognize the performance and commitment of its strategic partner companies.
In the virtual appointment, the participants were informed about the COVID-19 controls and statistics applicable to contractors, as well as the efforts made by the company to strengthen its community relations with a view to the sustainability of the interest groups. Following this thread, the constant supervision of contractors was also highlighted; management of social employment; the development of social procedures for contractors and the supervision of compliance, as well as the promotion of best contractor practices through the training of contractors in social management standards and labor regulations.
