PETROPERU applies contingency plan due to alleged crude leak in the Pastaza - Loreto river

PETROPERU addresses the public opinion to report that on May 25, oily spots were detected near Km. 12 of the North Branch Pipeline (ORN) – on the crossing with the Pastaza River, located in the district of Andoas, Datem del Marañón province, Loreto region.

Immediately the Contingency Plan has been activated, suspending the pumping of crude in the ORN. An emergency team made up of Petroperu specialists has moved to the area by air and diver to carry out the investigations of the case and to determine the origin of said spots and, if necessary, to execute the corresponding actions in the shortest possible time.
