PETROPERU announced the construction of a supply plant in Madre de Dios
Representatives of PETROPERU made a presentation at the Regional Office of Energy and Mines of Madre de Dios to inform about the characteristics of the Fuel Sale Plant that will be built in this region, 15 kilometers from Puerto Maldonado, on the highway from that city to Cusco, in the area known as "El Castañal", district of Tambopata; whose work will begin in the coming weeks.
The Regional Director of Energy and Mines of the Regional Government of Madre de Dios (DREMH), Eng. Yakir Rozas Manya, was present at the meeting, accompanied by the technical team of that agency. The official welcomed the presence of the national oil company and stressed that the construction of the new plant will allow order and regulate the supply of fuel in the region.
It should be noted that on May 28, a similar exhibition was held before the Provincial Mayor of Tambopata, Francisco Rengifo and 9 aldermen, at the company's headquarters in Lima.
The plant will have a constructed area of 12 hectares and a storage capacity of 50 thousand barrels, 12 thousand barrels of 84 octane gasoline and 38 thousand barrels of B5 diesel; In addition to a sewage treatment system and a fire system with a tank of 14 thousand barrels of water. The modern plant will initially have 5 dispatch islands, among other facilities.
The total cost of the work amounts to around S/ 65'197,000 and will be built from June of this year to July of 2020. It will require up to 120 workers, at a time of greater demand for labor; being 30% qualified labor and 70% unskilled labor. PETROPERU stressed that priority will be given to local personnel for the construction of this plant.
On the other hand, the work has an Environmental Management Plan that includes environmental prevention and mitigation programs, solid waste management, fuel and hazardous materials management, environmental monitoring and monitoring, environmental training, health and safety, of contingency, abandonment plan and community relations (PRC).
The latter includes the Local Workforce, Communication and Citizen Participation, Local Development Support, and Participatory Socioenvironmental Monitoring programs.
