PETROPERU and the Peruvian Army sign agreement for the supply of fuel
In order to implement a new fuel supply system, the Peruvian Army and PETROPERU signed a specific institutional cooperation agreement that will allow establishing greater control over the administration of fuel in the armed institution.
The agreement, which will last three years, was signed by the General Commander of the Army, Jorge Céliz Kuong and the General Manager of the state oil company, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales. The ceremony was also attended by the Minister of Defense, Walter Martos Ruíz and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of PETROPERU, Carlos Paredes Lanatta.
Paredes Lanatta pointed out that this agreement is part of the transparency and anti-corruption policy not only of the Company, but of the country. He thanked the opportunity for the role that PETROPERU can fulfill for the good of the country. For his part Martos Minister he was satisfied with the agreement and, in that sense, announced that both the Navy and the FAP are willing to sign a similar agreement to streamline the distribution system management fuels nationwide.
The document states that the state oil company is committed to building strategic stations, equipped with a control system online and in real time to facilitate verification of balances fuel tank and direct allocation to the user and respective vehicles, whose budget will be in charge of the Army of Peru. Likewise, to maintain in its facilities the fuel safety inventory to safeguard the operations of the Peruvian Army (EP), provide technical assistance and facilitate the EP the continuous supply of fuel in emergency situations.
In order to prevent acts of corruption in the supply, the parties comply with the provisions of the PETROPERU Integrity Code - which operates and includes the Integrity Line -, the PETROPERU Anti-Fraud and Anti-Corruption Policy, and the Code of Institutional Ethics of the Army, among other mechanisms.
