Petroperú and the municipality of Manseriche agree to promote development projects

Through an inter-institutional cooperation agreement signed between Petroperú and the District Municipality of Manseriche, in Loreto, an aquaculture production project will be progressively implemented for the benefit of the population, located within the scope of the activities of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP).

As the first step of this agreement, the municipality and Petroperú have agreed that the technical file, prepared by the commune, will be evaluated by the company before its execution, whose integral management that includes construction, personnel training and the acquisition of supplies, inputs and adequate equipment that guarantee the operability and correct functioning of said investment project, will be in charge of the municipal authority.

Likewise, as part of the commitments assumed by the company in its line of support for local development within the framework of the ONP community relationship plan, the municipality of Manseriche will be provided with three thousand gallons of fuel for a period of three months for the operation of the machinery that will be used for the maintenance of the main roads of the district.

For its part, the commune assumed the commitment to guarantee the maintenance of social peace in the area, which includes respect for the rights of Petroperú personnel and contractors, as well as promoting dialogue with indigenous organizations in the area and the population to avoid any measure of force against the ONP facilities.

In this way, the oil company reaffirms its commitment to support the local development of the communities close to its operations and promotes a climate of better understanding with local authorities and the population to achieve common objectives for the benefit of all.
