PETROPERU and the Ministry of Culture announce the 2016 edition of the National Cultural Award that, as being its fifth edition, points out the recognition of people and organisations, either public or private, that in some way contribute to the development of the culture of Peru.
The opening ceremony will be this Monday 25 of April at 11:00 a.m and held at the Ministry of Culture with the presence of Diana Alvarez Calderon, minister of culture and German Velasquez Salazar, board director of PETROPERU.
In this opportunity, the main focus of the 2016 edition of the National Cultural Award will be Arts and Humanities in the categories of Trajectory and Creativity while the category of Good Cultural Practices will be admitting any suggestions on any rubric of cultural aspect.
The trajectory category is the recognition of a living person whose work and contribution to Peruvian and Universal Culture and Art has been sustainable and productive in time and his work collection has been a source of influence for future generations, encouraging vocation and dedication to Art and Culture. The prize will be of 45 thousand soles, besides a recognition diploma and a trophy.
The Creativity category is also the recognition of a living person, the original and transparent creator of Art and Culture, that has provided an innovative contribution in his field of study and that its value could be nationally recognised. The prize will be of 45 thousand soles, besides a recognition diploma and a trophy.
Finally, the Good Cultural Practices category is the recognition of a non-profit national organisation either public or private, whose actions are in favor of the protection and promotion of the diversity of cultural expressions, the protection and conservation of National Cultural Heritage and intercultural dialogue. As well as a local,regional and national impact that could be a source of influence for other cultural institutions. In this occasion, the prize will be of 50 thousand soles, besides a recognition diploma and a trophy.

The application due date will be from May 2nd to August 5th and the revision of the applications will be from April 8th to October 12th.
The winners will be announced on October 21st and the rewarding ceremony will be on November 28th.
