Petroperú and residents of Talara work together on their green areas

Petroperú, in coordination with the Provincial Municipality of Talara and the neighborhood councils of the Southern Cone sector of Talara, recovered ten public spaces destined for green areas, transforming the urban landscape that contributes to improving the quality of life of the residents and the preservation of the atmosphere.

The day took place in the entrance area to the oil city, in the sector known as Cola de Gato, as well as in the coliseum of the Mario Aguirre human settlement and the Jorge Basadre, Quiñones, 28 de Julio, Víctor G. Jiménez and Víctor Raúl parks, among others, in a tangible expression of the state oil company's commitment to creating a positive impact in the community and the ecosystem in which it operates.

This initiative has generated more than 270 temporary jobs, benefiting, above all, dozens of women residents of the area. On the other hand, more than nine thousand square meters of space for green areas and gardens have been recovered, including the planting of more than a thousand seedlings, contributing to improving the health of the residents and quality of their environment.

Neighborhood participation

It is worth remembering that Petroperú, last August, delivered five public spaces intended for green areas to the residents of the Ciudad Satélite sector, in the Sacobsa, Luis Negreiros and Felipe Santiago Salaverry urbanizations; first and second stage. In this sector, in coordination with the presidents of the neighborhood councils, more than 80 temporary jobs have been created, and 4,726 m2 of green areas have been planted.

In this way, and through this initiative, Petroperú seeks to contribute significantly to the recovery of green spaces and the strengthening of local biodiversity, reaffirming its commitment to the population of Talara, in line with the Local Development Support Program, environmental component. and local decoration of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project.
