PETROPERU and PETROECUADOR sign agreement
PETROPERU and Petroecuador signed a Framework Agreement for Exchanging Knowledge and Good Practices in the hydrocarbon sector, with a duration of five years and the possibility to renew it for two similar periods.
The agreement was signed by Luis Eduardo García Rosell, President of the Board of Petroleos del Peru S.A., and Pedro Merizal de Pavón, General Manager of EP Petroecuador. At the event were present José Icaza Romero, Minister for Hydrocarbons of Ecuador and Rocío Pesantes, Vice Minister for Hydrocarbons of Ecuador.
This agreement establishes a cooperation framework for the exchange of technical knowledge, information, experiences and practices related to the hydrocarbon industry between the two companies. With that purpose, a Technical Committee will be created that will prepare a proposal for an internship and training program in common interest topics.
The signing of the agreement is part of a commitment in the framework of the Presidential Summit and IX Binational Cabinet of Ministers Ecuador Peru 2015. In the Action Plan of the Declaration of Jaen, in its point 61, referring to hydrocarbons, it is established as a commitment that “the competent ministers will support signature of a framework agreement between PETROPERU and Petroecuador, for the exchange of knowledge and good practices in the activities carried out by both companies”.
EP Petroecuador, 44 years of institutional life, is a state-run oil company that carries out activities of transportation, refinement, storage, national and international sale hydrocarbons, with the purpose of guaranteeing the supply oil-derivate products.
PETROPERU is the most important state-run company in the country, positioned as the pioneer, leading and flagship company of Peru, dedicated to the transportation, refinement, distribution and sale of fuel and other oil-derivate products.
