PETROPERÚ and PCM support dialogue table in Nueva Alianza community, Loreto

everything is set so that this Wednesday, August 31 PETROPERU and representatives of the National Dialogue and Sustainability Office (ONDS) of the PCM can open a Dialogue Table in the Nueva Alianza Community, of the Urarinas District, Province of Loreto, where they will seek to resolve the requirements of the leaders of that native community.

That is part of the actions other company is undertaking after the leaks of crude, caused by actions of third parties, in the 54 and 55 Km of the North Peruvian Pipeline, in an event that has been confirmed by the Specialized Prosecutor in Environmental Matters of Loreto-Nauta

It must be indicated that even though the leak was immediately controlled, thus preventing movement the flotation canal, it is urgent to begin the repair, cleanup and remediation works for this event. This is because, if it were to rein in the area, there is a risk that the affected area may grow in the hydrocarbon might affect waterways.

To that end, PETROPERU has begun a conversation process so that that community will allow our company to begin the crude recovery, cleanup and remediation works, under the supervision of the Lamor specialized company, and with the support of local labor (in coordination with the Apu and local authorities).

PETROPERÚ expresses its confidence in that, in the following hours, the population settling that part of the country will allow entrance of personnel authorized by our Company to begin the cleanup and remediation works.

PETROPERÚ reinstates its commitment with the protection of the environment and works arduously to restore the environment to its natural conditions in the shortest time possible.
