PETROPERU and INDECI work together for the populations affected by the frost

PETROPERU and the National Institute of Civil Defense - INDECI participated this afternoon in a symbolic ceremony of delivery of nearly six thousand blankets for families from the high areas of Puno, Moquegua and Pasco, as well as the Lima district of Villa María del Triunfo, affected by low temperatures. This within the framework of a campaign carried out in the oil company called "Abriguemos Corazones", which was replicated in all its operational headquarters, nationwide.

The ceremony was attended by Peruvian Army Brigadier General Jorge Luis Chávez Cresta, INDECI chief, and Engineer James Atkins Lerggios, Chairman of the Board of PETROPERU. Both officials coincided in highlighting the effort and collaboration of the personnel that works in the state oil company, since it was precisely their workers who contributed -through a collection- for the acquisition of the blankets. It must be added that the oil company decided to donate twice the amount collected in the collection.

The INDECI chief thanked PETROPERU for his support to make this great solidarity crusade a reality because, he said, "our brothers who are victims of low temperatures need us more than ever and the contribution of the big companies of the country is essential for those who require it."

In turn, the President of the oil company highlighted the solidarity action on the part of the workers, to whom he thanked the gesture, in accordance with the institutional values of the Company. "Everyone at PETROPERÚ is present at critical moments like the one that is happening in our country, with a large population affected by low temperatures and frosts," he said.

It should be noted that for the delivery of blankets has been allocated to a special team of officials of PETROPERU, who will travel the provinces of Huacullani, in Puno; Ichuña, in Moquegua and locality of Ninacaca, in Pasco, to make the delivery effective. All these jurisdictions, with a high level of poverty, are more than 3,500 meters above sea level. In Villa María del Triunfo, it will be the inhabitants of the AAHH Manolo Castillo and Eden del Manantial who will receive the blankets, starting on Friday, the 10th of this month.
