Petroperú and Ilo fishermen achieve an important award

Petroperú, fulfilling its relationship plan with its interest groups, maintains its commitment to the Single Union of Artisanal Fishermen Civil Divers of the Port of Ilo (SUPABCPI) of Ilo, this time as a strategic ally for the implementation of its processing project artisanal squid in that port in the Moquegua region.

This is how the state oil company managed to rank third in the Proactive 2023 Awards, in the Hydrocarbon category, by participating - with the fishermen's union of said port - with an innovative project of enriched squid burgers, with the main ingredient being this popular marine mollusk from the Peruvian coast, now converted into the main input of a food rich in nutrients.

This was possible thanks to the training of 60 artisanal fishermen - and their families - instilling in them the development of an easy technology for the artisanal processing of squid, thus obtaining a quality product that is appreciable in potential markets.

By obtaining such important recognition, Petroperú extended its gratitude to the hard and tenacious work of these fishermen, who - in turn - highlighted the support of the state oil company in their permanent training that, they said, will allow them to generate economic resources for their families.

Petroperú thus reaffirms its commitment to artisanal fishermen, who constitute one of the pillars of the development of the province of Ilo, which is why the State oil company will continue working with them, within the framework of its Social Management Policy, becoming a link between the productive sectors of the State and the communities in its areas of influence.
