Petroperú and Enel W Way are committed to the need for new energy sources that are increasingly more efficient and have less environmental impact, which is why they installed their third fast charging electric station, this time in Ica, where modern charging equipment for type CCS2 and ChaDeMo - which delivers up to 60 kW of power - will allow fast charging in less than 50 minutes per vehicle.

The installed electric charger, called WayPump 60 kw, will allow users to charge two vehicles at the same time, representing a significant advance in electric charging infrastructure in the region.

It should be noted that the inauguration of this new electric station took place at the El Óvalo Station, on Fernando León de Vivero Avenue and which belongs to the Petroperú Network. During the period of promotion of electric mobility, electric vehicles will be recharged free of charge, thus seeking a rapprochement with new energies in the Peruvian market.

With the launch of the third electric station, the Lima-Ica route will become the first charging corridor for electric cars nationwide. This will allow users of electric cars that currently circulate nationwide to have autonomy.

“It is an ambitious project that we are carrying out hand in hand with the owners of the service stations who have opted to have new energy at the points of sale,” highlighted Francisco Alvarado Manrique, Marketing Manager of Petroperú.

Likewise, this charger will allow connecting Lima with more cities in the south of the country, as it will be complemented by the recently installed charging points in Chala and Camaná, allowing electric vehicles to reach Arequipa without any inconvenience.

“That is why it is important now more than ever that initiatives such as the one we are carrying out in Ica, together with Estación El Óvalo and Petroperú, are replicated by other companies and, thus, continue developing electric mobility in the country,” said Jean. Pierre Mendoza, commercial representative of Enel X Way in Peru.

In this way, Petroperú, Enel X Way and the service stations of the Petroperú Network promote the development of electromobility in Peru, contributing to the objectives of sustainable development, allowing access to affordable, safe, sustainable and modern energy for everyone. country.

Pole to Pole Expedition

The opening ceremony of the third electric station was attended by the couple Chris and Julie Ramsey, who have been carrying out the “Pole to Pole” project, an expedition that aims to raise awareness about the climate crisis and the fundamental role that electric vehicles can play in reducing the carbon footprint. This trip – of more than 17,000 miles – began last March, at the North Pole and will culminate in Antarctica (South Pole), after traveling through three continents and more than 14 cities in an electronic vehicle.
