PETROPERÚ activated a technified irrigation system in Ninacaca
PETROPERÚ implemented a technical sprinkler irrigation system, benefiting more than 12 hectares of pasture and forage land, thus fulfilling its commitment to the communities of the town of Ninacaca, in Pasco, at more than 4,140 meters above sea level.
It should be noted that sprinkler irrigation is a mode of irrigation through which the water reaches the plants in the form of localized "rain", allowing water consumption to be reduced, without affecting the plant material subjected to irrigation, since the pressure that water can offer to plants.
This system will allow the irrigation of 12 hectares of crops in the dry season for fodder to feed their sheep, contributing to the economic and social development of the rural population of the peasant community of San Pedro de Ninacaca.
Through its social management policy, the State company assumed this commitment, during its participation in one of the multiple Dialogue Tables implemented between PETROPERÚ and the Ninacaca community, designing the project for the supply and installation of a technical irrigation system by sprinkling for the 12 hectares.
PETROPERÚ has been building a modern fuel sales plant in that locality, with a storage capacity of more than 7,500 barrels. The work seeks to promote the development of the region, allowing the decentralization of fuel dispatch and guaranteeing its supply in the Pasco, Junín and Huánuco regions.
