People from Talara receive free medical care thanks to Petroperú
General medicine, pediatrics and gastroenterology, among others, are some of the scheduled medical specialties.
Petroperú began its annual health campaign in Talara that, completely free of charge, will benefit more than five thousand low-income residents of the districts of Pariñas and La Brea – Negritos; as well as the settlements of Piedritas, Jabonillal, Bosque Pariñas and La Débora.
General medicine, pediatrics, dentistry, endocrinology and gastroenterology, among others, are some of the medical specialties scheduled for July and August with specialists who, for several weeks, will provide their services in strategically located and conditioned places for this type of care.
Likewise, it has been considered to offer triage and laboratory services; as well as the delivery of medicines, free of charge, according to the patient's diagnosis. Kits for cleaning children's teeth, with toothpaste and dental floss; as well as glasses with frames and ophthalmological moons, for the most vulnerable patients, are also being provided.
The state oil company thus reaffirms its commitment to health within the framework of its social management policy, through its "For a better quality of life" Program, which also includes care at the Talara II Health Center, through its vaccination programs for children and adults, as well as family planning services.
The free health sessions are held from 8:00 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the following places according to sector or district.

On the other hand, and in the same note, it should be noted that PETROPERÚ has executed about 20 medical campaigns in the districts of Pariñas and La Brea – Negritos, benefiting more than 18 thousand people.
It should also be noted that during the COVID-19 health emergency, PETROPERÚ invested more than nine million soles in Talara in the construction and equipment of a modern modular hospital -administered by EsSalud- with capacity for 45 beds (30 of them for hospitalization and 15 for the Intensive Care Unit); as well as in the provision of protective equipment and supplies for the benefit of the medical staff of the Talara II MINSA Health Center. In addition, 5,000 rapid tests were purchased for the detection of COVID-19, during the first wave of infections due to the pandemic.
