Pedro Chira is appointed Chairman of the Board of Petroperú
Petroperú's General Shareholders' Meeting appointed petroleum engineer Pedro Chira Fernández as Chairman of the Board of Petróleos del Perú –Petroperú S.A. as of April 26, 2023. Chira Fernández had been serving as vice president since January 8 of this year.
Pedro Chira is a petroleum engineer graduated from the National Engineering University, has an MBA from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro and 39 years of experience in the hydrocarbons industry, having held positions in the technical exploration and production areas in Petroperú, as well as in the areas of supervision and negotiation of Perupetro contracts and as technical leader, Operations Manager and Manager of Applications and Technology Development in Halliburton, a transnational oil services company.
In the same universal session held today, April 25, the General Shareholders' Meeting approved the appointment of professionals Pedro Méndez Milla and Artemio Reátegui Soria as members of the Petroperú Board of Directors.
Pedro Méndez is a chemical engineer from Universidad Nacional de Trujillo, with 42 years of experience in the hydrocarbons industry, having held various leadership and managerial positions at the Talara, La Pampilla and Conchán refineries. He has held the positions of Finance Manager and General Manager of Petroperú.
Artemio Reátegui is a petroleum engineer from Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, has a master's degree in Energy from Esan University and more than 40 years of experience in the hydrocarbons sector, having worked in companies such as BPZ, Pacific Stratus Energy, Maple Gas Corporation , Petrolera Monterrico, Perez Companc, among others.
The new directors join Brigitt Bencich Aguilar, appointed on April 24, 2023, and José Olivares Canchari, director since April 2, 2022; as well as Antonio Manosalva Alarcón, representative of the workers.
