Peculiar exhibition Stone Oil seeks to close the gap between the audience and the oil industry

A didactic and attractive exhibition about the oil industry, where the assistant will be able to see, touch and, above all, learn, will be offered by PETROPERU to the Piura public free of charge, starting this Thursday, May 17, with the support of the University of Piura – Udep.

This is the sample "STONE OIL", which seeks to publicize everything related to the origin of hydrocarbons and connect the viewer with the oil industry. In this case, it is noteworthy that Piedra (Petra) and oil (Oleum) are the two Latin terms that we find in the etymology of the word petroleum, for which reason it is also called "Stone oil".

This traveling exhibition, which was a sounding success when it was presented in Lima, can be seen in the area of the first floor of the Main Building of Udep, an institution that for its cultural tradition and contribution to academic dissemination, is an ally in our objective of promoting knowledge of the hydrocarbons industry.

They are part of the assembly a density mill, a drum with colored elastics, pipes to feel the texture of hydrocarbons, as well as projections and a number of activities that will explain the process in which humanity has generated new technologies that changed forever the history. In this way, it is evident that oil is the basis not only of fuels but of many materials necessary for daily life.

This presentation opens on Thursday 17, at 7:00 p.m., in the main building of the University of Piura, and will continue until May 31.
