Oxygen Plant undergoes tests for optimal operation

The Medicinal Oxygen Plant donated by PETROPERU requires optimal technical conditions to maintain its full operational capacity of 30 oxygen cylinders daily and 24 hours a day. That is why it is currently in the testing stage, having delivered at the momen 16 oxygen cylinders of 10 m3 capacity each, to the Datem del Marañón Health Network.

This modern plant complies with international standards and requires optimal technical conditions for its operation, which are part of the commitments assumed by DIRESA Loreto.

DIRESA Loreto's commitments include managing the supply of adequate electricity with the relevant entities. At the moment, the Plant is working with a motor generator, because near the place where the Plant is installed, a fire occurred that affected the electrical supply and the total restart of this service in the area is expected to take place, to start producing the total capacity of 30 medical oxygen cylinders per day.

As it can be recalled, the premises for the installation of the Plant were transferred and conditioned by the District Municipality of Manseriche, in Saramiriza. Meanwhile, the personnel assigned by the Health network, who will be in charge of operating it, are already being trained.

The oxygen plant, which cost was S/. 1´565.827.00, will be donated to DIRESA Loreto, for the benefit of the Datem del Marañón Health Network, who will be in charge of its administration and will determine the procedure for attending to the demand for medicinal oxygen, according to health protocols.

It is worth mentioning, according to information from MINSA, the Loreto region exceeds 27 thousand positive cases of COVID-19, whose risk of contagion is high. Therefore, with this donation, PETROPERU joins the health system's fight to mitigate the impacts generated by this pandemic.
