OSINERGMIN students visit Conchán Refinery of PETROPERU

PETROPERU opened its doors to a delegation of 20 students of the OSINERGMIN university extension course, specializing in Chemical Engineering, Law, and Economics, accompanied by a teacher.

They visited the facilities of the Conchán Refinery, which has a Primary Distillation Unit (UDP) with a capacity of 15,500 barrels per day and another Vacuum Distillation Unit (UDV) of 10,000 barrels per day.

The future professionals of the course, called Liquid Hydrocarbons, were received by the Sub Manager (e) of the Refinery, José Oliver Linares. The students received a technical talk about the oil refining process by the Project Supervisor, Jorge Aquino, who was in charge of making the tour of the refinery facilities. A central part of the visit was the Control Room of the Refinery, where they could observe the operation panel of the whole plant and the automated control that takes place there. This system allows to optimize the refining process and obtain quality products.

The refinery can store up to 2'051,354 barrels of liquid hydrocarbons and has a multibuoy berth to service tankers of up to 75,000 DWT.

Guided tours are activities that are part of our social responsibility policy that seeks to integrate with our stakeholders through knowledge of our actions in the hydrocarbon sector.
