One hundred children from Villa El Salvador trained in sports academy of PETROPERU
After nine months of hard training, the PETROPERU 2019 Sports Academy closed its year of activities with the participation of 100 children and adolescents from the various Human Settlements (AAHH) of Villa El Salvador (VES), next to the Conchán Refinery, in Lima.
They practiced volleyball and soccer in their communities under the supervision of specialized teachers, who in addition to the game taught them respect, responsibility and commitment as fundamental values to improve their interpersonal relationships.
This program, in which children from 7 to 12 years old of both sexes participate, is carried out for the third consecutive year and also has the support of parents, who make available community spaces for sports.
During the closing of the program, students were recognized for their commitment, discipline and teamwork, as an example to be followed by their peers.
It should be noted that sport serves as a tool to reduce aggressiveness, prevent violence, keep children and adolescents from risk situations and encourage the participation of families in healthy practices.
With these programs, executed within the framework of its Social Management Plan, PETROPERU reaffirms its commitment to improve the quality of life and well-being of the communities close to its operations.
