North Peruvian Pipeline restarts hydrocarbon transportation service
Section II of the North Peruvian Oil Pipeline (ONP) restarted its activities in optimal conditions, ensuring the reliability and safety of the transportation of liquid hydrocarbons. Section II extends from Station 5 (Saramiriza – Loreto) to the Bayóvar Terminal (Sechura – Piura).
As part of the activities required for the restart, the operating parameters of levels, pressures, temperatures, opening of manual and automatic valves, among other factors, were verified. All these simultaneous actions are monitored from the Control Room installed in the Bayóvar Terminal, the final destination of the crude oil from the Amazon batches.
This restart of the hydrocarbon transportation service takes place after Petroperú completed all the repair work on the ONP pipeline, in the 11 points where it was affected by intentional cuts registered during 2023 and 14 in 2022.
In addition, Petroperú carries out scheduled preventive maintenance work, in order to guarantee safety in the hydrocarbon transportation service. These tasks consist of reinforcing the pipeline, strengthening the riverside defenses, right-of-way patrol activities, major maintenance of station equipment, as well as rubbing and cleaning the reserve area through which the pipeline moves.
