New Talara Refinery will allow for more competitive fuel prices

With the recent start of the full operation of the New Talara Refinery (NRT), PETROPERÚ will place the total of that production of high-quality fuels in the Peruvian market at more competitive prices, in addition to a better commercial offer to its customers in all sectors that it serves nationwide: service stations, wholesalers, mining, aviation, electricity generators, the Armed Forces, etc.; thus contributing to the national economy and thereby benefiting all sectors of the population.

Having more competitive prices also allows the progressive recovery of PETROPERÚ's market share, which also favors the financial sustainability of the company.

The NRT, one of the most modern technological complexes in the world, has the capacity to process up to 95 thousand barrels of oil per day, representing an increase of 45%. In this way, a reduction in the import of fuels will be achieved, with a gradual positive impact on the trade balance of the hydrocarbon sector.

It should be noted that the commissioning of the NRT ended with the stabilization of processes of the Flexicoking Unit, which has the ability to process residual inputs turning them into top quality products. In addition, NRT generates strategic value for the hydrocarbon industry, as it can process heavy crudes.

Participation in oil lots

PETROPERÚ operates Northwest Oil Lots I, VI, and Z-69, fulfilling its commitment to maintain sustained production in these three lots, estimated at 7,200 barrels of oil per day.

PETROPERÚ's participation in the Northwest lots allows the supply of oil and natural gas to the NRT at an efficient cost and offers more competitive prices to the domestic market. Crudes from oil wells in the area are connected to the refining complex and cover about 25% of the total cargo.
