New Sales Plant in Puerto Maldonado registers 76% progress

PETROPERÚ organized the third informative meeting with the Local Committee of the new Puerto Maldonado Sales Plant project, made up of representatives of the institutions of that city, capital of the Madre de Dios department.

The plant is being built in the area known as El Castañal, in the province of Tambopata, it will have a storage capacity of 50 thousand barrels and will allow ordering and regulating the supply of fuels in the region, satisfying the demand with quality fuels.

During the meeting, held following the biosafety protocols for COVID-19, PETROPERÚ reported that the project is 76% complete and priority is being given to hiring local labor; while the construction is carried out under the highest quality and safety standards.

Likewise, in accordance with the Local Development Support Program of the project's Community Relations Plan, various social projects were presented by institutions such as the Regional Directorate of Tourism - Puerto Maldonado, the Municipality of Tambopata, the National University of Madre de Dios (UNAMAD) and the Regional Directorate of Education; all in the line of achieving benefits for the population of Puerto Maldonado.

The Local Committee is made up of representatives of the Municipality of Tambopata, Regional Directorate of Energy and Mines, Research Institute of the Peruvian Amazon, UNAMAD, Chamber of Livestock Development and the educational institution El Castañal. These entities, in coordination with PETROPERÚ, evaluated the feasibility of the projects to be carried out.

In this way, the Local Committee monitors and monitors social programs and other interventions that are developed in a participatory manner, with each of the agents involved and PETROPERÚ.
