Neighbors of Villa el Salvador and Lurin benefit with technical training promoted by PETROPERU
- The opening ceremony of the workshops was held today with the presence of PETROPERU and MML authorities.
PETROPERU, in strategic alliance with the Metropolitan Municipality of Lima (MML), has started a technical training program for 320 residents of the 19 human settlements near its Conchán Refinery, as well as for other residents of Villa El Salvador (VES) and Lurín.
Through this agreement, PETROPERU provides the equipment and courses supplied by the Center for Vocational Training and Research, Innovation and Development (IDDEPRO), while the MML provides the facilities and logistical support of the Business Development Center Oasis, VES Headquarters.
The courses, which will start being taught next week, are cosmetology, bakery, gastronomy, metalwork and tailoring. In addition, each of the courses will be complemented with a training in business management, in order for participants apply the knowledge acquired in developing their own businesses.
During the reopening ceremony of the premises, the deputy manager of Social Development of PETROPERU, Juan Martín Angulo, said that this important support is carried out by the company in a strategic alliance with the MML to enhance this training center and develop the skills of the population.
"I invite you to participate in these courses and to care for the center's equipment and infrastructure so that they can continue to benefit more neighbors who, like you, seek to be entrepreneurs for a better quality of life," he added.
The Manager of Economic Development of the MML, Cristian Rosenthal, thanked PETROPERU for investing in the formation of the community, since not only will they be able to learn a productive trade, but they will also receive formative support to undertake commercial activities.
For her part, María Zeña, a family mother and student of the training program, welcomed this important support that will allow many women in the area to empower themselves and improve their economic situation.
