Neighbors of native communities promote the generation of healthy spaces

The residents of the Barrio Florido town center and the Santo Tomás native community, in the district of Punchana, province of Maynas, Loreto region, participated in the training sessions that were carried out as part of the program for the implementation of healthy living spaces through the management of and solid waste management, executed by Petroperú and the National University of the Peruvian Amazon (UNAP).

The training in good environmental practices was developed during a period of three consecutive months and was in charge of professionals and students of the professional careers of Chemical Engineering, Agronomy, Environmental Management, Biological Sciences and Education Sciences and Humanities of the aforementioned higher education institution.

The more than seventy participants, including children, youth and adults, highlighted the importance of this program, which has helped to strengthen their knowledge and skills to become agents of change and contribute to the promotion of healthier, respectful and valued environments.

In this way, Petroperú contributes to the generation of a society committed to the protection and care of the environment, as well as in the generation of healthy spaces, in which the development of sustainable community tourism is promoted, in close coordination with its authorities, who have supported the development of this program.
