National and international companies show interest in participating in maintenance work at the New Talara Refinery

More than eighty national and foreign companies, specialists in the execution of maintenance activities of process units, participated in the Roadshow "Maintenance Services for the new Talara Refinery", through which they learned about the most important energy project in the country and learned about the asset conservation services that PETROPERU will contract shortly for the new Talara Refinery.

The event, developed in a virtual way, was inaugurated by the Talara Refinery Manager, Jorge Alméstar Mauricio, who highlighted the importance of identifying strategic partners who are capable of delivering a world-class service offering, taking into account technology with the one that will include the modern refinery complex and in line with the Integrated Asset Management System that PETROPERU has designed, developed and has been promoting with a view to starting operations of the new infrastructure.

During the session, PETROPERU representatives spoke about the construction process of the new Talara Refinery and provided information on the maintenance services to be hired, which are common in the industry. They also provided information on the PETROPERU hiring process and resolved the concerns of the participants about the issues developed and the services that will be publicly convened as of May.

Beginning of operations

The construction of the new Talara Refinery is 93.72% complete, projecting the start of operations for the end of November this year.

This project is carried out in compliance with current legal regulations, to preserve air quality and contribute to the improvement of public health, by reducing sulfur in fuels; and ensure the supply in the national market from the processing of 95,000 barrels per day of oil.
