Municipal authorities visit work of the New Ilo Terminal
Council members of the Provincial Municipality of Ilo and officials of the local community, along with representatives of PETROPERU, made a working visit to the facilities of what will be the New Ilo Terminal, a modern first level sales plant that will supply liquid fuels to the southern region of the country.
The municipal authorities were received by Tomás Flores Noriega, Deputy Manager of Social Development of the state oil company, who spoke about the stages of the project, the main characteristics of the new facilities and the social responsibility policies worked on in the last year in the region. It should be noted that the works have reached a 38.27% physical progress.
After reviewing and verifying the works, the deputy mayor of Ilo, Javier Lozano Medina, said that this is an ambitious project, with a future projection that, he said, will greatly benefit the locals of Ilo. "I see with satisfaction that the construction of this work continues to advance, which benefits the local population, taking into account that the local workforce is preponderant in the development of the new terminal," he said.
In that sense, the mayor considered the visit educational and fruitful, the first made by the new authorities, and highlighted the social commitment of PETROPERU that has resulted in the roof of the sports slab of the Mercedes Cabello school in Carbonera, the delivery of the video-surveillance cameras -which are in the custody of the local community- and the asphalting of Av. Mariano Lino Uquieta.
Both officials committed to continue working with responsibility to continue contributing to the development not only of the port of Ilo, but of the Moquegua region.
