Mayuriaga is speaking out

According to the requests of the Mayuriaga community, leaders and settlers from the community had a meeting with the representatives of PETROPERU to reaffirm the agreements assigned on March 8th and to come up with new agreements that would surely benefit the native communities. Here are some of the most important mentioned during the meeting:

The company will provide working opportunities for the Mayuriaga community (Wampis) in the areas of the incidents and an equal salary’s amount for everyone.

Likewise the contracting companies must have the permission of the Mayuriaga community before operating in any of the incident areas.

PETROPERU will be granted facilities to bring their work equipment for the perforation of the water wells.

The company will manage a visit of a technical crew for the implementation of the rural electrification program in the community.

PETROPERU compromises to improve the infrastructure of the school Nº 62168 as well as to implement a program to improve reading comprehension for the children of Mayuriaga.

In 30 business days and in the same place, there would be another meeting to present the progress of the agreements as always in the open dialogue framework between both parties.
