Masters students from Universidad De Piura visited the works of the New Talara Refinery
PETROPERU continues to communicate its Talara Refinery Modernization Project among its different interest groups. Along these lines, a delegation of 25 students from the Master’s in Project Management from the University of Piura visited the facilities of the New Talara Refinery to learn about the magnitude, progress and benefits of this work.
On this occasion, the teachers learned that the new Refinery will process 95 thousand barrels per day and includes the installation of 16 new units of latest technology processes, as well as five auxiliary units of services and general facilities, according to the requirements of the international energy market In the same way, they were informed of the Occupational Health and Safety actions that have allowed this megaproject to be executed successfully thanks to the high standards observed in this matter; also, on the investment and the actions of Social Management that are being developed.
In addition, the participants were able to answer their questions regarding the design and management of the PMRT, emphasizing its scope, quality and performance of the new refining complex; as well as the terms, costs and risks of the project, which already records an integral advance of 79%.
These visits demonstrate the interest generated by the PMRT in the academic community, either for the management of the most important investment project that the country is currently executing, as well as for the social impacts for the benefit of the population of Talara and for the incorporation of new knowledge. to the country, from the inclusion of cutting-edge technology.

In the same way, twenty owners of service stations affiliated to the PETRORED chain participated in an exhibition and made a guided visit to the Talara Refinery.
Through this type of activities, we seek to consolidate and strengthen commercial relations with business partners, as well as keep them informed of this project that will allow us to have quality fuels to supply the different regions of the country.
These visits are made as part of the Communication and Citizen Participation Program of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT).
