Master Cconference for the 50th anniversary of PETROPERU was held at UPAO
In the framework of the celebrations for its 50th anniversary of activitiess, PETROPERU organized the Master Conference “Petroperu 50 years of development” at the Universidad Privada Antenor Orrego, Piura location, where the topics of the New Talara Refinery were discussed: main benefits and technological contributions, and the modernization of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP), directed at more than 100 students of engineering and the university community as a whole.
The Conference was carried out in two parts. The first, in charge of Eng. Luis Vertiz, Head of the Monitoring and Control Unit of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT), announced the processes, advances, and economic, social and environmental benefits of this important ongoing project.
While the second - on the ONP Modernization Plan - was in charge of Eng. Antonio Manosalva, Chief Engineering of the ONP Operations Sub-Management; who explained that the objective of this project is to overcome the technological gaps to optimize the management of this crude transport infrastructure, through a process that has been carried out in three stages: 1) diagnosis and conceptual engineering, 2) basic engineering; and 3) detail engineering and construction.
It should be noted that at the end of the conference, attendees learned more details about these important projects through the round of questions that were answered by the speakers.
This way, PETROPERU shares information about the new technological knowledge that the PMRT brings to the country as well as the necessary optimization of the ONP, for the benefit of the national and local academic community.
