Mario Contreras assumes the chairmanship of the board of PETROPERÚ S.A.

The General Shareholders' Assembly of PETROPERÚ appointed Mario Contreras Ibárcena as Chairman of the Board of Petróleos del Perú - PETROPERÚ S.A. as of Thursday, September 16, replacing Eduardo Guevara Dodds.

Contreras Ibárcena is a chemical engineer by profession, graduated from the Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos. He has extensive experience in the hydrocarbon sector. He worked for more than twenty years in PETROPERÚ, where he was climbing positions until he reached the Operations Management of Block X of Talara. In the following years, he worked for the Argentine oil company Pérez Companc Perú and the company Skanska del Perú S.A. - Confipetrol Andina S.A.

In the same universal session held on September 15, the General Shareholders' Meeting approved the appointment of Hugo Ángel Chávez Arévalo, Carlos Alberto Palacios Olivera, Juan Donato Pari Choquecota and Luis Rafael Zoeger Nuñez as new members of the PETROPERÚ Board of Directors. Óscar Vera Gargurevich remains the director representing the workers.
