Locals of Talara will study certified technical courses thanks to Petroperú
Petroperú began the technical training and certification program for 4th and 5th grade secondary school students, from the districts of Pariñas and La Brea -Negritos, in Piura, with the aim of strengthening their skills and maximizing their chances of job placement, as they are close to complete their school years.
The participants are students from public educational institutions: La Inmaculada, María Reina de la Paz, Emblemática 15513, José Gálvez Egúsquiza, Politécnico Alejandro Taboada, La Brea and José Pardo y Barreda, who participated and passed a selection process among more than 300 applicants.
The one hundred selected students will be trained - with comprehensive scholarships - in graphic design, digital marketing, maintenance and support in electronic systems and universal welding courses.
SENATI is the institution hired by the state oil company to lead the training that includes the provision of all the necessary materials, personal protective equipment (in the corresponding courses) and mobility for students in the La Brea district.
This initiative is part of Petroperú's Social Management actions, as part of its Local Development Support Program of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project and the Community Relations Plan of Lot I.
Petroperú thus reaffirms its commitment to education as the most important factor for the progress and development of its population, having delivered in Talara - from 2013 to date - more than 300 full higher technical education scholarships; 2924 educational packs for classroom work and implemented school libraries with books from Ediciones Copé.
