Lighthouse has been temporarily replaced by light system

Due to the versions released in recent days, PETROPERU reports that, in coordination with the General Directorate of Captaincies and Coastguards (DICAPI), the lighthouse of the hill located within the facilities of Talara Refinery was temporarily replaced by a light system that has been working as a guide for the boats, so there has been permanent signaling. Likewise, it states that once the work that is being carried out as part of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT) has been completed, the definitive lighthouse will be replaced to that very location.

In the same way, the partial cut that is being made in the El Faro hill, which is contemplated in the Environmental Impact Study (EIA) of the PMRT, does not impact the wind action on the city nor does it cause damage in case of tsunami. In this area tanks and equipment will be located that will cover the retreat area.

In addition, he points out that the information that accounts for the material removed from the hill is disposed at sea is false. This material is taken to authorized areas, as corroborated by the OEFA.

PETROPERU reiterates its commitment to the care of the environment and the development of Talara. Likewise, it reiterates its permanent disposition to keep informed in a timely and transparent manner to the community of Talara about the actions that it carries out in this province.
