Latest publications of Ediciones Copé will be part of the 25th Lima Book Fair
The latest publications of the Ediciones Copé of PETROPERU imprint will be part of the 25th edition of the 2020 Lima International Book Fair - FIL, an important cultural and editorial activity that, due to the current situation, this year will take place virtually, on August 21 as of September 6, 2020.
In the FIL Lima 2020 program, four talks have been included on the winning works of the 2019 Copé Award and the book “Viajes y virajes. Anthology of stories from the Andean Community”, which can be followed through the YouTube channel and the FIL Lima 2020 fanpage.
The first discussion will be held on Tuesday, August 25, at 7:00 p.m. and its theme will be the 2019 Copé Poetry Awards - Silver and Bronze. The winners of these important awards will participate in this activity: James Quiroz and his book "In the woods of infinite music" and Karen Vila with her collection of poems "The first stations", in open dialogue with the writer César Bedón. On Friday, August 28, at the same time, there will be a discussion on the poetry collection winner of the 2019 Copé Award "Expediente vallejo", by the writer Johny Barbieri, who will talk with the poet Hildebrando Pérez.
On September 4, at 7:00 p.m. a new discussion will be held on the recent publication: "Viajes y Virajes, Andean Community Short Story Anthology", which will be led by Ricardo Sumalavia (Peru), Sandra Araya (Ecuador) and Alberto Chimal (Mexico). One day later, on September 5, at 6:00 p.m. a discussion will be held with the 2019 Novel Copé Award, which will be in charge of the Minister of Culture, Alejandro Neyra, who was the winner of this important award with his work entitled “My sacred monster”.
As part of its commitment to the culture of the country, PETROPERU promotes and encourages research and literary creation, the promotion of new writers and the consolidation of those already experienced in our country, through a series of annual activities. One of them is the Copé Award, a literary contest organized and promoted by PETROPERU since 1979 and which is in force in the Short Story and Essay genres, until September 30, 2020.
