Iquitos Sales Plant is meeting the demand for fuels

Petroperú informs the public of the following:

  1. Today, Saturday, the Iquitos Sales Plant is serving local demand in a controlled manner and tomorrow, Sunday, it will serve all its customers during normal hours.
  2. In order to maintain the continuity of shipments, Petroperú has its 12 vessels available for the transport of fuels from Pucallpa and Yurimaguas.
  3. On Friday the 30th, the AF Río Urubamba vessel arrived at the Iquitos Refinery, which allowed pumping products to the Iquitos Plant for the sale of fuels. Likewise, upcoming arrivals of diesel, gasoline and turbo A1 are scheduled.
  4. As is known, the low water conditions of the Amazonian rivers that have occurred (currently on red alert), have generated serious problems in river navigation, preventing the normal movement of vessels. This critical situation, which impacts all economic activities in the region, affected inventories and restrictions on the sale of fuels to customers.
  5. Under these conditions, ships carrying supplies for preparing fuel are sailing with reduced loads to control draft and avoid running aground; there are also restrictions on nighttime traffic and longer travel times.
  6. As these conditions continue, the population is called upon to make responsible and orderly use of this resource. Petroperú will continue to take the necessary actions to supply fuel to this area of the country, as it has done for more than four decades.
