International event on industrial safety taking place at the PMRT

On Monday, July 15, the International Workshop “Evaluation of the Process Safety Management System in the New Talara Refinery and foundations for the development of the process safety standard in PETROPERU” began, which will take place until Thursday 18 of this month in the auditorium of Club Punta Arenas, in Talara.

The event will involve 12 experts from some of the most important oil companies in the region: Ecopetrol, YPF Argentina, Pan American, YPF Bolivia, Raizen, Pluspetrol, Coga; through the Regional Association of Companies of the Oil, Gas and Biofuels Sector of Latin America and the Caribbean (ARPEL).

The general manager of PETROPERU, Guillermo Bergelund, inaugurated the event and offered the words of welcome to the participants, stressed that “we have the challenge of optimizing the corporate process safety standard in all our facilities nationwide… primarily because we work to be a company with world class standards”.

In addition, the senior official thanked Izeusse Braga, executive secretary, Pablo Ferragut, project manager and Ricardo Buyati, ARPEL refining manager, as well as specialists from sister companies for their support and participation in the Workshop.

In this way, PETROPERU encourages the exchange of experiences with its peers in the region in order to optimize the high standards of safety and health in the operation of the new Talara Refinery, for the benefit of the Company's staff and the Talara community.
