Innovative educational program is implemented by PETROPERU in schools of Olmos
In compliance with its Social Responsibility policy, PETROPERU began, in the district of Olmos, Lambayeque region, the implementation of the "Quality Schools" program, which aims to improve the teaching and learning -in communication and mathematics- of more than 400 primary education students.
This program has been made possible thanks to an agreement with the Faculty of Education of the Cayetano Heredia Peruvian University, and will soon be replicated in other cities in the north of the country, such as Bayóvar, in Piura.
In the session, held in Olmos, an intense training was previously imparted to the faculty of the schools located in the towns Pasaje Norte, Sequión, San Pablo de Escurre, Racali Ranch, El Cardo and San Cristóbal Grande. Teachers received information on new techniques and innovative tools in pedagogy by the specialists of the referred center of higher learning.
"Quality schools" seeks to reinforce the teaching provided to children, with special emphasis on mathematics and communication, familiarizing students with formats and types of texts, as well as situations and questions that tend to be used in these subjects.
In this way, PETROPERU strengthens its commitment to the education of children located in the neighboring towns to its operations, developing skills and strengthening capacities to improve their quality of life.
