Ilo will have more natural gas connections thanks to PETROPERÚ and FISE

PETROPERÚ is finalizing details to start its work in the city of Ilo, where new domestic natural gas connections will be made, taking into account that this year, the Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE) has considered a budget for the extension of networks.

The announcement was made by the Manager of Natural Gas, Jorge Luis Ramos Felices, who announced that the coordination with the Ministry of Energy and Mines (MINEM) is advanced to ensure that the general budget of the Social Energy Inclusion Fund (FISE) is approved, thus seeking to connect more homes on the same network that is already built.

"First we have to receive the response of the MINEM, letting it be known that the budget was approved, which will be in the following days, then coordination will be made with the municipality to manage the permits and based on this, it will be known when the works will begin", he stated.

The official added that -as administrators of the southern concession, and in coordination with the MINEM- PETROPERÚ is about to specify resources for new connections on the existing network and later build new networks, through an agreement for the use of funds from the FISE Program.

He argued that, without a doubt, this is a great opportunity for the Ilo population, as it will also include businesses that will benefit from financing of up to five years, without interest, for their connections, as well as access to cheap and safe fuel.

Regarding the local workforce, the natural gas manager of the state company specified that the FISE and the MINEM will be responsible for qualifying and requesting the required personnel according to the needs of the installation firms that will carry out the pertinent works to achieve new connections, hoping to double the current ones over the next year.
