Ilo artisanal fishermen will benefit from PETROPERÚ's proposal
The pota squid, a popular marine mollusk from the coasts of our country, could become the main supply for the preparation of nutrient-enriched hamburgers, thus being a delicious and nutritious option for the consumption of the population of Ilo.
This is thanks to the "Project Development and Technological Application in Artisanal Processing and Added Value of the squid resource in the province of Ilo, in the Moquegua region", which seeks to adapt and develop artisanal production technology for marine species, having this mollusk as the main resource.
Through this project, it is expected to benefit artisanal fishermen, their families, entrepreneurs and investors who consider this proposal as a business alternative, which helps to overcome the multiple difficulties generated as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
It should be noted that this proposal, addressed at the Ilo Dialogue Table, responds to a request from the Single Union of Artisanal Fishermen and Civil Divers of the Port of Ilo-SUPABCPI, which is part of the Community Relations Plan of the Environmental Impact Study of the New Ilo terminal.
PETROPERÚ works hard with the aforementioned union, as well as with the Regional Government of Moquegua and the Technological Institute of Production - CITE Pesquero Ilo, to formulate and present project proposals to the bankruptcy fund of the “National Program for Innovation in Fishing and Aquaculture – PNIPA”, of the Ministry of Production.
It is worth noting that the PNIPA offers a counterpart for the execution of the projects, ranging from 70% to 80% of the investment, according to the modality in which the projects are presented.
PETROPERÚ's participation is part of its Social Management Policy, becoming a link between the productive sectors of the State and the communities in its areas of influence.
In this way, the state company reaffirms its commitment to artisanal fishermen, its main interest group in the area and one of the pillars of development for the province of Ilo.
