Hydrocarbon transport restarts on Section I of the North Peruvian Pipeline
Section I of the North Peruvian Pipeline (ONP) restarted its hydrocarbon transport operations. Section I, with an extension of 306 kilometers, extends from Station 1, located in San José de Saramuro, Urarinas district, to Station 5, in the Manseriche district, both in the Loreto region.
All the necessary previous activities, such as the pressurization of the pumping line, as well as the monitoring and analysis of the pressure behavior, have been scrupulously developed and monitored by PETROPERÚ personnel, resulting in the restart of the pumping of Section I that was paralyzed since April of this year. This operation is in addition to the recent start of pumping for Tranche II that occurred on December 21.
The hydrocarbon transport service for sections I and II is specified after PETROPERÚ fulfilled all the repair works of the ONP pipeline at the eleven points where it was affected by intentional cuts during 2023 and fourteen in 2022.
Likewise, PETROPERÚ continues to execute the preventive maintenance plan, to continue guaranteeing safety in the hydrocarbon transport service. These tasks consist of the reinforcement of the pipeline, strengthening of the riverine defenses, patrolling activities of the right of way, major maintenance of station equipment, as well as the rubbing and cleaning of the reserve area where the pipeline moves.
PETROPERÚ guarantees reliability in the transport of liquid hydrocarbons through sections I and II of the ONP, strategic infrastructure and National Critical Asset of great importance for the development of the oil industry and the country.
