Higher education students strengthened their knowledge of hydrocarbons

Petroperú's Iquitos Refinery was visited by students participating in the II PetroAmazon Week, organized by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) of the Universidad Nacional de la Amazonía Peruana (UNAP), as well as a group of senior officers from the Peruvian Army, who are studying the V Diploma in Leadership and Strategic Planning, who visited the facilities and learned about the processes of refining, distribution and transportation of fuels.

Both institutions were able to deepen their knowledge of the hydrocarbon sector thanks to Petroperú staff, who were responsible for transmitting to the visitors their knowledge and experience acquired in the important task of supplying fuel in the region, as well as specifying the role of the company in the economic revitalization and strengthening of energy security in the Amazon.

Firefighters of Punchana

A delegation from the No. 92 Salvadora Punchana Fire Company, from Loreto, also recently toured the refinery facilities with the objective of getting to know the firefighting system in depth and coordinating collaborative and mutual support actions.

During their visit, they were able to familiarize themselves with the operation of the refinery equipment and learn the protocols for responding to emergencies. They also observed the progress of an important project to update the firefighting network that the refinery is developing, as part of the preventive and corrective measures necessary to comply with the requirements of regulatory bodies and international standards.

This approach facilitated the exchange of specialized knowledge on fire prevention and response, allowing the strengthening of the synergy between the refinery and the firefighters to improve joint capabilities when facing critical situations for the benefit of the safety of the community and the facilities.

With these guided tours, Petroperú highlights its commitment to constant work with the student community and with entities related to its area of action in operations to maintain adequate institutional relations in its areas of influence.
