Fuel supply is normalized

Petroperú reported that it has been carrying out technical and operational actions to restore the normal supply of fuel in its sales plants and terminals nationwide, meeting the current demand of its customers. It should be noted that Petroperú has a 49% share in the gasoline market and 39% in the diesel market, reaching areas in the interior of the country where private companies in the sector do not have a presence.

This was reported by the vice president of Petroperú, Carlos Vives Suárez, and the general manager, Cristina Fung Quiñones, who participated in the 22nd extraordinary session of the Budget and General Accounts Commission of the Congress of the Republic.

The officials specified that, with the extraordinary economic and financial measures dictated by the State through Emergency Decree No. 023-2022, payments have been made to international and local fuel suppliers, which has allowed the discharge of diesel. and high-octane gasoline to meet the demand of the domestic hydrocarbon market. They mentioned that since 10.29.2022 the unloading of diesel shipments began in Conchán, Callao and Mollendo and high-octane gasoline in Conchán.

"The level of shipments in the sales plants will continue to recover progressively, as logistics are restored and new shipments arrive," Fung Quiñones said. Likewise, she stressed that the resources disbursed by the State have been used for the purchase of crude oil and other products, in strict compliance with the provisions of the law. Similarly, for the sake of transparency, this information will soon be published on the institutional portal of Petroperú for consultation by citizens.

New Talara Refinery Operation

At another time, the general manager reported that Petroperú, together with the main contractors, licensing companies and project supervisors, continue with the gradual and progressive start-up tests of the New Talara Refinery, with a view to starting commercial operations next December. With this, the company will once again be an important refiner in the country, replacing the imports that it is currently carrying out. Likewise, it will be able to offer better commercial conditions and substantially improve its profitability and liquidity.

The new Petroperú refining complex has the capacity to process up to 95,000 barrels of crude per day to produce gasoline, diesel, LPG and other quality fuels, contributing to the company's sustainability.
