Film Forum of PETROPERU will present Las Horas
As part of the cultural activities in our country, PETROPERU invites those interested to participate in the film forum that, on this occasion, will present "Las Horas" (2003) by director Stephen Daldry, starring Nicole Kidman, a film that will be commented on by the poet, journalist and yogi, Tatiana Berger, this Thursday the 13th at 6:30 pm in the auditorium of the PETROPERU Cultural Center, located at Av. Canaval Moreyra 150, San Isidro, Lima. Admission is free.
The film, which is shown in the series "Oscar Winning Actresses", tells the story of three women from different times who try to find meaning in life. One of them is the renowned writer Virginia Woolf, played by Kidman, at the beginning of the 20's in London, who fights against her madness while she begins to write her first great novel "Mrs. Dalloway. "
Every week the film forum will feature the comments of renowned Peruvian professionals and artists such as Diana Miloslavich (writer, doctor in social science by the UNMSM and member of the Center for Peruvian Women Flora Tristán), Marcela Robles (writer, poet and editor of the newspaper El Comercio) and Pilar Núñez (actress, professor at the Faculty of Performing Arts of the PUCP and the Higher National School of Dramatic Art).
In the framework of this cycle, in addition to "The Hours", you can see magnificent performances in films that have become classics of contemporary cinema as "Monster" (2004), starring Charlize Theron, "Million Dollar Baby" (2005) , starring Hilary Swank and "Life in Pink" (2007), characterized by Marion Cotillard.
In this way, PETROPERU promotes knowledge of the art of film and reinforces its commitment to the dissemination of culture, highlighting the role of women in artistic creation and in the development of our society.
