The General Manager of PETROPERU, Carlos Barrientos Gonzales, made a work visit to the Talara Refinery facilities, where he verified that the execution of works of the Talara Refinery Modernization Project (PMRT) has a progress of over 79%.
During the tour, Barrientos Gonzales, who was accompanied by the PMRT Manager, Jorge Alméstar Mauricio, verified the construction work of the process units, auxiliary units and complementary services that will be part of the new Talara Refinery, which will begin operations in the First quarter of 2021.
The General Manager made a brief visit to the new Flexicoking Unit (FCK), through which the deep conversion of waste to valuable products (mainly diesel) will be carried out. He also noted the progress of the modern control room, the new MU2 liquid loading dock and the seawater collection system.
As part of this visit, he met with the workers of this headquarters, highlighting the objectives and policies undertaken by the current management so that PETROPERU is an admirable and sustainable company over time. He indicated that the basis for achieving the goals set is to maintain a firm commitment to transparency, efficiency and "zero tolerance" to corruption and acts against ethics and morals.
The new Talara Refinery is built to the highest standards in the region and will be one of the most modern refineries on the South Pacific coast. In this way, the new PETROPERU refinery complex will be in line with the new demands of the international energy market, producing cleaner fuels that ensure the preservation of the air and the health of all Peruvians.
