Everything is ready for the start-up of the Flexicoking Unit of the New Talara Refinery

Petroperú began the pre-startup maneuvers of the Flexicoking Unit (FCK) of the New Talara Refinery (NRT), after completing the inspection and repair work on this important process unit.

With its start-up and subsequent operation, the FCK unit will contribute to increasing the production of quality fuels at the NRT, such as gasoline, diesel, LPG, Turbo A1, among others, to meet national demand.

During the temporary shutdown of the FCK, in which inspection and repair work was carried out, the NRT has continued to produce fuels in specification, through its other 15 process units and auxiliary units, which have remained operational since its start-up.

The FCK is the most complex process plant at the NRT, as it boasts cutting-edge technology, licensed by the American oil company Exxon Mobil, present in only eight leading refineries in the world, allowing it to perform highly reliable and precise operations. This technology allows the production of high-value liquid fuels obtained from petroleum waste, as well as flexigas to be used as energy for the network of furnaces and boilers and the generation of energy for the refinery itself.
